Abstract

Recording signals; track apparatus actuating signals on trains and for stopping trains; track apparatus actuating sigaaals other than on trains.- A locomotive generator 48 energizes contacts in engagement with lateral conductor rods carried by spring arms 22 so as to give the driver visible warning of the state of the points or threeposition signals, the "danger" signal 46 also operating an audible alarm 50 and causing a brake application through the solenoid 51 and valve 53. The generator 48 is connected to contact 49 and the red, green, and yellow lamps 46, 47, 47<a> to contacts 29, 30 30<a> engaging conductors 23, 24, 24<a> connected to appropriate contacts 19, 20, 20<a>, on the signal post. Contact 30 also engages a conductor connected to point contacts. Contact 62 engages a conductor to convey current to visible and audible signals at level crossings, &c., to give warning of the approach of the train. Magnets 44, 45, 45a in parallel with the lamps actuate styles 38, 39, 39a engaging a sheet 36 wound by a motor 31 energized from the generator 48. The locomotive contacts are mounted on the cab 11<1> and the remainder of the apparatus in a casing 27 having a glass front.
