Abstract

181,871. Farmer, G. A., Coussmaker, L. J., and Campbell, E. A. April 4, 1921. Electrical systems, automatic; lamp signals.- Audible or visible signals are given to the driver by shoes coacting with two track ramps. The ramps are alternatively connected to the rails according to the position of the signal arm, so that, in the form shown in Fig. 7, one of the lamps g<2> is energized by a battery g<1>, when the train passes a signal. A spectacle frame g<3> carries red and green glasses, and is reversible for running tender first. Stick relays are included in the lamp circuit so that the lamps remain alight until the driver operates switches g<5>. A lever i, Fig. 5, lifts the shoes d, which are suspended by links h<4>.
