Abstract

275,762. Proctor, D. M., and Carborundum Co., Ltd. June 29, 1926. Rollers. - Rollers for spinning, twisting, drawing, or otherwise treating fibrous material are formed wholly of hard abrasive material, such as carbide of silicon or electrically fused alumina, together with a suitable binder, such as sodium silicate, shellac, vulcanite, or ceramic bonds. In a modification, the rollers comprise a body of metal or other material having a coating of the abrasive material to the thickness of not less than onesixteenth of an inch. The first Provisional Specification refers to the use of carborundum. The second Provisional Specification describes the application to trap rollers for twisting frames.
