Multiple-chamber kilns; covers; crowns and roofs.-In order to facilitate charging and discharging, the chambers of a continuous kiln are roofed by movable slabs j. As shown, the slabs run on rails g on the sides of the. chambers, and can be run at the end of the chamber on to a transfer platform. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), the slabs may be moved by a travelling crane, or they may be adapted to turn about one edge into a vertical position. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
