Stencilling-machines; inking-apparatus. -- A stencil duplicator of the type comprising a drum which is rolled by hand over the sheet to be printed, comprises a perforated cylindrical drum. a, which carries the usual ink-pad l and stencil k and is fixed to end walls d rotatably mounted on a shaft b to which a handle h is removably fixed by means of screws i. The pad is inked by a roller a<1> yieldably supported by spring plates b<1> fixed to a cranked part of the shaft b, the pressure being varied by adjusting-screws c<1>; or, in a modification, the roller a<1> is carried by arms fixed to the shaft b, which is resiliently supported by rubber or other rings in the end walls d. The drum is returned to normal position after printing by coil springs c fixed to the shaft b and to the walls d and arranged in casings e. The pad l is looped at one end over a bar m placed in slots in lugs o fixed to the walls d and at the other end over a bar n attached to adjusting- screws s. The leading end of the stencil is attached to studs u on the bar m and the trailing end is clamped by a U-shaped strip w the ends of which grip the walls d. Felt strips e<1> cooperate with the roller a<1> to form stops for limiting the rotation of the drum.
