Abstract

275,257. Budil, (nÚe Meixner), E. July 31, 1926, [Convention date]. Dust-collectors.-Fig. 2 shows a baffle device for the separation of dust, in which the dust flows though tube sections arranged side by side with short inlet and outlet slots relatively staggered, the cut out portions which leave the slot being bent up to form in various directions baffles, e.g. as described in Specification 234,516, having means for increasing the rotational character of the flow and consequent separation of dust. The apparatus may be coated with oil &c. and oriented so that the dust whirls tend to gravitate out of the path of the air, e.g. on to an inclined bottom having a collecting trough 10, Fig. 3. The separators may be arranged in sets from which each separator is individually removable, spring-pressed slides 11 preventing passage of dusty air during the removal. A cover 12 completes the packing of the sets.
