Abstract

274,951. Dancy, A. J. April 28, 1926. Hand domestic appliances.-A. spoon suitable for stirring, cleaning out utensils, &c., resembles an ordinary spoon except that its bowl 2 is truncated by the removal of the small end of the bowl along a line 3 oblique to the longitudinal axis of the spoon. The truncation is best defined by assuming that the bowl is lowered into still water for. say, one third of the length of its major axis with the handle vertical, and then, without further immersion of the centre line of the bowl, the handle is inclined towards the observer for thirty degrees and simultaneously to the right for thirty degrees. The portion now immersed is that absent from the bowl of the spoon. The angles where the line 3 meets the sides 4, 5 are rounded off and the bowl is deeper near the side 4 than at the side 5, which may form a cutting edge for chopping vegetables. Specification 12801/08 is referred to.
