Abstract

274,510. Skoda Works, Plzen. July 16, 1926, [Convention date]. Conductors. - A conductor for electrical machinery or apparatus consists of several conductors piled in layers and arranged in groups one beside the other, and the individual conductors are so shaped that they have at intervals bent transition points at which they change their level and pass simultaneously from one group into another, by being first directed sideways, then. downwards on the out-side of the composite conductor and ending in a straight portion forming part of the other group. Fig. 1 shows a composite conductor comprising two groups of superposed layers. Each individual strand of the conductor is formed with a bend x so shaped that, for example, a strand passes from the top of group 1 to the bottom of group 2. Fig. 4 shows a conductor consisting of four groups of superposed layers 1 - - 4. In a modification, the conductor may be formed in two similar halves fitted together so that the bends in the two halves are located at opposite, sides. The. lengths of each individual strand per unit length of the composite conductor are equal. Insulation may be provided between the separate elements.
