273,975. Mason, P. G., and Coleman, H. S. Jan. 15. 1927. Trees and stretchers.-A boot tree comprises a toe piece, an adjustment bar a provided with rack teeth b, a heel piece, and a slide c. Pivoted to the slide c is a locking member g formed with two tongues g<1> to engage any of the notches on the rack-bar. In a modification, a single tongue g<1> may be provided. A spring may be associated with the member g. The Provisional Specification describes also a construction in which a spring-pressed transversely sliding locking member co-operates with the rack-bar, and a construction in which a pivotally mounted pin cooperates with a perforated adjustment bar.
