Saucepans.-Apparatus for cooking peas, beans, cereals, &c., of the type in which a, meshed shallow bag is suspended from the mouth of a saucepan so that the food within the bag is at, or near, the water level, a semi-boiling or semi-steaming being thus effected, is characterized by the bag being detachably suspended from a substantially flat ring which is supported by the rim of the saucepan. As shown in Fig. 1, the bag a is suspended from a ring b having outwardly directed teeth c pressed up from the ring, the mouth of the bag being detachably engaged with the teeth. The rim of the ring is beaded at b<1> and the inner circumference is flanged downwardly. In one modification, the teeth c are replaced by upstanding buttons or studs, whilst in another, the teeth are spaced around the periphery of the ring b.
