Abstract

272,099. Sladdin, A. G. Nov. 20, 1926. Addition to 269,399. Pads and padding. - The method of making garment pads described in the parent Specification is modified by omitting the liquid size and employing instead the normally glazed or sized surfaces of the wadding which surfaces are rendered tacky by moisture. A moisture saturated cloth is placed over the superimposed layers of wadding which have been cut to the required size. The layers are then subjected to pressure by means of a hot iron which softens the glazed surfaces and causes them to cohere. A steam pressing machine may also be used, the drying being effected by vacuum.
