Abstract

271,648. Claflin, A. L. May 29, 1926. Ink-ribbon mechanism.-A ribbon-reviver attachment comprising a ribbon-engaging roller supplied with liquid from a damping-roller is attached to the spool guard by means so arranged as to avoid interference with the ribbon-reversing lever. The ribbon-reviver 11 shown in the Figure is attached to the spool guard 5 by means of a plate 14 formed on uue cf the covers 12 and haviug spring clips 16, the plate being so arranged as to prevent interference with the ribbon-reversing lever 6, and also to cause the ribbon 3 to lap round the ribbon-engaging roller 10. The plate 14 may be formed integrally with the spool guard 5 and cover 12. In some cases the usual guideroller 15 is dispensed with and the ribbon-reviver is so mounted on the spool guard that the roller 10 engages the ribbon at a position intermediate of the spool and the ribbon-reversing lever. The Provisiunal Specification refers to Specification 243,539.
