Abstract
270,729. Chemische Fabrik auf Actien, vorm. E. Schering. May 5, 1926, [Convention date]. N-Methylsulphites of aminometalmercaptosulphonic acids are prepared by treating aminometalmercaptosulphonic acids or salts thereof with a formaldehyde bisulphite. The products, which are readily soluble in water, possess therapeutic properties. The preparation of the sodium formaldehyde bisulphite compound of #-amino-alphaauromercaptoethanesulphonic acid is described, and the same compound of 4-amino-2-argentomercaptobenzene-1-sulphonic acid (described in Specification 266,824) is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also describes the preparation of the sodium formaldehyde bisulphite compound of 4-amino-2-auromercaptobenzene-1-sulphonic acid. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. #-Amino-alpha-auromercaptoethanesulphonic acid is obtained by treating #-amino-alpha-chlorethanesulphonic acid with alcoholic potassium sulphydrate and then introducing gold into the thio group.
