Abstract

268,893. Billner, K. P. Jan. 12, 1926. Ornamenting.-A porous concrete material of the known kind comprising cement, powdered aluminium, zinc, &c. and water, is produced by mixing together 70-100 per cent of water and 0.03 to 0.5 per cent of powdered metal, bv weight to that of the cement used, the material being of sufficient fluidity to brush or spray on to surfaces. The material may also comprise a fine aggregate such as crushed cinder or furnace slag, or sand with additional water. Powdered colouring matter may be added to the dry cement, or dyes or powdered metals &c. to the liquid or semi-liquid material. The material may be used as a cement facing or paint and also with fibrous materials such as fibrous cements or concretes, wood stone, or artificial stone. When used as a facing the surface of the coating may be stippled to break some or all of the gas bubbles present therein, and during this operation mineral or other colours or other powdered materials may be applied for producing coloured designs or effects.
