268,278. Zinnwerke Wilhelmsburg Ges. March 29, 1926, [Convention date]. Treating ores to remove undesired constituents. -Ores containing antimony, particularly tin ores, are treated to remove the antimony by roasting with a reducing agent, such as charcoal, prior to leaching with an acid. In a modification, the ore is treated with an acid containing a reducing agent such as ferrous or cuprous salt, ferrous sulphate or chloride being exemplified. Should the ore contain pyrites or arsenical pyrites, the ore is afterwards roasted prior to the separation of the tin.
