Capsules and like closures; sealing devices for stoppers and other closures.-In a band strip-off overseal for bottle and like closures of the type comprising at one end a head connected to the strip by a narrow neck and at the other end an opening or slot which at its outer end is of less width than the head but which is adapted to permit the head to be passed through it, the outer end portion d of the slot is of less width than the, head b and the inner portion e is of greater width than the head to permit the head to be inserted through it without having its twist or distort the strip. As shown, the slot is tee-shaped, the narrow or leg portion being disposed longitudinally of the strip and towards the end of it, and the neck c, which it is adapted to receive, is reinforced by corrugations f.
