Abstract

268,010. Hogg, A. Dec. 18, 1925. Operating doors by cord arrangements. - For rapidly loading lorries with ballast &c. a wheeled load-box X containing a full wagon load and provided with bottom discharge doors d' substantially covering the floor area of the lorry, is mounted on rails on a gantry structure A, so that the box can be moved past a fixed loading point to receive a distributed load from a conveyer, shoot, &c., and can then be discharged into a lorry XX brought beneath the gantry. The box X is fitted with double-flanged wheels C and with four pairs of hinged doors d<1> which are lowered and raised by rope connections from a winch. A main rope t at each side of the load-box passes over pulleys X, and is coupled to four pairs of smaller ropes t<2> which drop from these pulleys and are connected to bars d<6> on the doors by swivel eyes with adjusting links.
