Abstract

267,796. Richards, J. W. Aug. 17, 1926. Pedal-crank driving-mechanism; wheels, facilitating detachment of.-In Juvenile tricycles, bicycles, &c. of the type in which the pedal cranks are rigidly secured to the driving-wheel hub, the wheel hub 1 is provided in its centre or boss with recesses 4 of square, oval or other non-circular shape, to receive studs 8 of similar shape on the pedal cranks 7, 7a, a bolt 11 being passel through the hub and cranks to lock them solidly together. The studs 8 are cylindrical whera they pass through holes in the lower ends of the front forks 2. The bolt 11 engages a tapped hole in, or a nut 12 on, the crank 7<a>. On removal of the bolt 11, the wheel may be readily detached.
