Rollers, spindles, rods and the like, treating.-In a machine for grinding shafts, crank shafts, crank pins, &c. the work is carried by two heads c, d mounted on a table e pivoted on the machine bed, and movable about the pivots by a screw p operated through worm gearing by a hand wheel m to feed the table towards or from the grinding-wheels a, b, which are adjustable longitudinally and transversely in relation to the work. The table e has lugs f, g thereon carrying bushes h, i constituting trunnions and rotatable in brackets j, k on the machine bed. The work is rotated by belting r which drives a shaft s mounted axially of the trunnions, the shaft s driving a shaft u, which through toothed or chain gearing drives the work heads.
