Abstract

265,021. Payne, L. T. March 4, 1926. Licence holders for motor vehicles. - A glass or other facing is secured by means of a rubber, metal &c. resilient ring sprung into engagement with the flanged edge of the casing, the glass being of the same size as, or slightly less than, the aperture of the flanged edge. Fig. 2 shows a licence holder for motor vehicles, a sheet metal body a being formed with a front flange b. A glass disc c is inserted through the aperture at the front of the body and secured in position by a flat rubber ring d, as shown. A resilient metal backing plate e with flanges f to grip the periphery of the glass, is formed with an indentation to engage a central projection g on the back of the body. Fig. 4 shows an observation mirror for motor vehicles. The front glass. is in the form of a mirror and the retaining piece d is of thin metal. The back plate e presses against a cover piece h on the back of the mirror.
