Abstract

Stop-motions. - In a machine for winding artificial silk the stop-motion comprises a drop wire 7, Fig. 1, provided with a counterweight 9 pivoted at 13 in a frame 10, the yarn x passing over a roller 8 at the lower end of the wire 7. On breakage of the yarn, the wire 7 overbalances under gravity and the member 9 falls into the path of a wiper 15 on the stopmotion shaft 14. On stoppage of the shaft 14 the clutch member 21, Fig. 2, is forced to the left against the spring 24 thereby turning a lever 26 about its pivot 27 and moving a detent 32 from beneath the support 33 of the spur wheel 34. The wheel 34 thereupon rolls on the wheel 35 out of mesh with its driving wheel, the swift 6 and the counting medhanism being thus stopped simultaneously.
