Inking-apparatus. - In inking- apparatus of the kind described in Specification 20195/14, wherein ink is delivered under pressure to a number of conduits, each of which supplies one column or other section of a forme, means are provided whereby ink of one grade or colour may be fed to any desired conduit while ink of another grade or colour is being fed to the other conduits. The conduits 10, which open into nozzles 12 adjacent an ink distributing cylinder, are supplied with one kind of ink from a fountain 20 and have branch conduits 25 connected to another fountain 21 containing a different kind of ink. Valves 27, 28 are arranged in each conduit 25, 10 so that any of the nozzles may be supplied with ink from either fountain. The nozzles are formed in a rail 13 having an extension 23 on which the fountains are disposed so as to be readily accessible. The rail 13 is provided with a pivoted cap plate 15 which can be raised against the action of a spring 17 to give access to the nozzles for cleaning &c. purposes. The ink is delivered from the fountains to the conduits bv pumps driven bv chains from a shaft which is driven from the shaft of one of the distributing drums, and if it is desired to supply all the pages with ink from one fountain only, the chain driving the pumps of the other fountain may be disconnected.
