Hollow-ware.-In an apparatus for rolling sheet metal utensils having a mouth of smaller diameter than that of the part to be operated on, such as kettles, of the type consisting of a pair of rolls one of which is mounted on a rigid arm and the other on a pivoted arm pressed down by a screw, the pivoted arm carries a block which may be moved into or out of engagement with the screw so as to allow of quick insertion and removal of the work. In a corrugating machine the roll A is mounted on a fixed crank arm B and the roll D on a shalt E carried by a housing F which is pivoted at G, and normally raised by a spring P. The shaft E is pressed down by a screw U engaging a block R on an arm S which is pivoted to the housing F at T so that it may be removed out of contact with the screw when the latter is stacked back. The housing F has rigid therewith a housing N for gears H, J. the shaft K having a cup L with a transverse pin M for engagement with pins m on a slidable clutch b when the roll D is in operative position. The work j is placed over the roll A with its mouth engaging a fixed or rotatable cup or ring k against which it is pressed by a plate g rotatable on ball bearings on an arm e mounted on a vertical pivot. The apparatus may be used for rolling down a ridge formed by welding the parts of the utensil.
