261,286. Hodgson, C. G., and Millard Machinery Co., Ltd. Nov. 5, 1925. Tar-macadam, plant for making.-A hopper for use in connection with plant for the manufacture of road-making materials is provided with a compartment for receiving heated stone, sand, &c. from the screen 6 and drying drum of the plant, and a compartment 7 for receiving a filler such as cement, the two compartments having a common separating wall whereby the heat of the contents of the first compartment is transmitted to the contents of the filler compartment. The filling aperture of the compartment 7 is separate from and independent of the delivery from the screen and is provided with a flap. The compartment 7 may be located between a pair of the other compartments 4, 5, as illustrated. The delivery mouths 9, 10, 11 of the three compartments are located adjacent to one another, whereby they may all deliver to a weigh hopper 12.
