Abstract

260,287. Ohio Chemical & Manufacturing Co., (Assignees of Axelrod, M. L.). Oct. 21, 1925, [Convention date]. Moulds for shaping or vulcanizing dental plates &c. are composed of a mixture of cementitious material, e.g. plaster of paris or Keen's cement, and finely divided metal or alloy, e.g. iron, copper, tin, zinc, aluminium or brass. One composition comprises 90 per cent plaster of paris and 10 per cent aluminium. The cementitious material and metal powder are intimately mixed dry and sufficient water is then added to form a plastic mass from which the mould is shaped. Articles may be vulcanized in the mould by direct or dry heat instead of steam. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 4283/14. [Class 70. India-rubber &c.].
