Abstract

260,091. Cleland, Ltd., W. W., and Luce, R. C. Oct. 2, 1925. Wrappers.-An enclosure or wrapper of paper, cardboard, &c. is adapted to enclose a box or container around one periphery, one side being provided with a lid or cover to enable the contents of the box to be accessible whilst the enclosure is in position. A blank, Fig. 1, is scored to produce a top comprising a rim 1 and a cut-away portion 2, front and rear walls 3, 4, and side walls 5, the side walls comprising two parts 5a, 5<b> adapted to be folded about a crease 9 to receive between them flaps 6, 7 and 11, 12 secured to the front and rear walls respectively, the whole being locked together by tongues 13 on the parts 5<a> engaging in slots 14 in the rear wall 4. The out-away portion 2 is formed with an incision 18 and scored lines 15 about which it may be folded to stand substantially upright behind tabs 19, formed by slits 17 in the rear of the rim 1, and to present a display surface. The enclosure is adapted to be slipped over a box 20, Fig. 2, to hide the box but display its contents. The walls 3, 4, 5 may comprise rims with apertured centres. In a modification, the double side wall is replaced by a single one having tongues adapted to engage in slots in the flaps 11, 12. As shown in Fig. 5, a part of the cut-away portions 36 is covered with celluloid 36<a>, flaps 23, 24 form the rear wall, the panel 37 being adapted to stand up as a display panel, and the front flaps 34, 35 of the side walls 27, 28 are lodged between the folded parts 31, 32 of the front wall In another form the box is inserted sideways into the enclosure.
