Photo-mechanical printing-surfaces.- For the production of a gelatine printing surface, a diapositive and a screen are copied on the same side of a bichromated gelatine film. The latter is mounted on a glass or other support, and after exposure is transferred with the exposed surface downwards to the printing cylinder or plate for development, the adhesion being obtained by a binding medium such as chromated fish glue and glacial acetic acid. The process is contrasted with that in German Specification 340,003 according to which the diapositive and screen are exposed from opposite sides of the bichromated gelatine film.
