Abstract

258,651. British United Shoe Machinery Co., Ltd., (Deutsche Vereinigte Schuhmaschinen Ges.). June 23, 1925. Pantographic apparatus.-In a pattern grading and cutting machine with workpiece holder 24, 28 and template holder 23, 26, template guide 7 and cutting device 4, 5, the holder being movable bodily relatively to the device in a plane to enable the contour of the template to be reproduced on the workpiece by the cutting-device, and the holder, guide, and cutting device being interconnected by a pantograph of known type, (a) the work and template holders are mounted on a ball-bearing 11 supported on a wheeled carriage 12 moving on rails 14 carried by a bracket 15 hinged on pins 18, 19, (b) the template is clamped by a cam 27 and the workpiece by a cam-actuated pivoted lever, and (c) the cutters 4, 5 are adjusted relatively to the frame by two screws 35. The cutting-device comprises shear-blades or a cam-reciprocated punch 5 co-operating with a stationary die 4. Specifications 13302/10, 207,548, and 233,710 are referred to.
