Abstract

256,993. Michelin et Cie. Aug. 17, 1925, [Convention date]. Hoops; discs.-In a wheel rim formed in an endless piece without any joint by pressing a disc between dies to give it a cup shape, Fig. 5, the base is cut away and is used to form the disc of the wheel. The rim may be shaped in dies, Fig. 10, or by rollers, Fig. 13. The wheel disc may be increased in diameter by rolling in rolls, Fig. 16, after which it is shaped for securing to the rim and hub, as in Fig. 14, by riveting, welding &c. Before the original disc is cupped, it may be rolled to form a rim shape, as in Fig. 12.
