256,934. Johnson, H. F., Johnson, H. C., Johnson, H. F., Louis, H. J., and Louis, J. J., (trading as Johnson & Son, S. C.), (Assignees of Beach, C. H.). Aug. 15, 1925, [Convention date]. Floors, cleaning.-A floor-polishing machine comprises a brush 1 rotatably mounted on a horizontal axle to which is secured a frame carrying a handle 3 and a motor, preferably an electric motor 4. The frame consisting of front and rear side bars 6, 7, and cross-bars 8, 9, is pivotally mounted on the brush axle. The brush, which supports the machine when in use, is connected at each side by a belt 5 to the motor shaft. The motor is suspended between the side bars 7, which are arched, and is urged away from the brush 1 by a spring 23 whereby the belts 5 are kept tight. The belts are enclosed within casings 24 to which is detachably connected a dust plate 30.
