Life-line attachments.-A device for use in rescuing persons who have fallen through ice comprises a portable open frame of large diameter for bridging the hole in the ice, having a central manhole through which a person can escape. The frame comprises inner and outer rings 2, 3 of aluminium tubing connected by openwork 4, and is about six to nine feet in external diameter. Cables 6 are provided to facilitate sliding or otherwise manipulating the frame into position on the ice, at least one cable being provided with a missile 7 for throwing. In a modification the frame is rectangular and is provided with pivotal extending arms at the corners thereof. In a further modification the rings 2, 3 are sufficiently large in diameter to float if the ice should give way and may be of wood.
