Abstract
A PV solar panel mounting frame (15, 16) assembly for in-roof installation is configured for mutual mechanical inter Þt and sealing engagement with other framed panels (19, 30) and a roof covering, such as tiles; so an otherwise frameless PV cell module can be adapted for integrated roof mounting, for a new roof or a conversion of part of an existing roof; the frame comprising corner interconnected top, bottom and opposite side frame elements; panels can be fitted in a common plane or stepped in marginal edge overlap; panels in successive adjacent columns can be mutually aligned; whilst panels in successive adjacent rows are mutually staggered or offset; panels are installed from top to bottom from a first row abutting a pre-fitted flashing strip and set-up reference bar, with side flashing at opposite ends of each row, repeated until a bottom row with a bottom flashing strip; each bottom frame element is secured to an underlying panel batten and similarly with top, side and bottom flashing.
