Abstract

Mounting systems are used to install photovoltaic modules at an angle on flat roofs and to receive a good electricity yield from the solar radiation hitting the photovoltaic modules. By now, a large variety of such mounting systems has resulted from the large demand for solar systems. The invention relates to a mounting system for mounting photovoltaic modules (3) on a flat roof (2), wherein the photovoltaic modules (3) of a double row (4) form a triangle shape having a ridge area (9) and two eaves areas (6) in the cross-section perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the double row (4), wherein the mounting system has bearing areas (10) in the ridge area (9) for a ridge-side edge area of the photovoltaic modules (3), wherein the mounting system has bearing areas (7) in the eaves areas (6) for an eaves-side edge area of the photovoltaic modules (3), wherein the mounting system is designed to retain the photovoltaic modules (3) in a self-supporting manner between the ridge-side and the eaves-side edge area (10, 7), and wherein at least one of the bearing areas (10, 7) is formed by an aluminum die-cast profiled element (8, 11), which extends in the longitudinal extension of the double row (4).
