Abstract

255,553. Oviedo, F. F. April 27, 1925. Bakers' ovens.-In a bakers' oven, of the kind in which the dough is carried through the oven on trays carried by an endless conveyer, there is provided a separate external charging and discharging device which is adapted to remove the trays from the oven conveyer, tilt them for discharge and convey them to a loading position from whence they are automatically returned to the oven. The invention is described as applied to an oven in which the conveyer is arranged, constructed, and driven as set forth in Specification 227,575. The trays 20 are provided at one end with projections 26, 27 which, when the tray reaches the end of the lowest run of the conveyer, are received between the screws 3, 4 and guides 25. The screws move the tray outwardly to the point 18, this movement pushing the preceding tray up the guides 21, 22 until its projections 26, 27 engage in the threads of the vertical screws 5, 6. When the latter have raised the tray sufficiently for its rear edge to leave the supporting rails 23, 24, the tray swings into the vertical position to discharge its contents and is carried upwardly in this position until the cams 7, 8 cause its projections to enter lateral guides 9, 10. The tray then slides downwards and is guided by a slope 11 on to a loading platform 13 supported on an eccentrically-mounted rotary drum 12 which is so arranged that, to allow charging, the tray is kept stationary by the raised position of the platform 13 for a short time before being lowered into engagement with the screws 1, 2. The latter carry the loaded tray into the oven, there being provided spaced supports 14, 15 from which the tray is removed by one of the pivoted carriers of the oven conveyer. Endless chains, formed of links having a hook for engaging the projections on the trays, may be substituted for the screws 1 - - 6. The complete charging and discharging device is mounted in a wheeled frame running on' rails to permit continuous baking or baking in batches.
