Abstract

227,575. Oviedo, F. F. Nov. 20, 1923. Bakers' ovens.-In a bakers' oven wherein the material to be baked is carried through the oven by means of endless chains, the driving of the chains is effected by means of screwed shafts T, either directly, as shown in Fig. 1, or through toothed wheels R', R, as shown in Fig. 17. In the first case the chain is composed of links D, each having at one end an apertured ring a, Fig. 6, and at the other apertured forks e, whilst in the second case the chain comprises short links of the form shown in Fig. 13, the links being coupled in each case by bronze sleeves fitting tightly in the rings or bosses and loosely in the forks. The rods s which carry the tray supports pass through the coupling-sleeves and are located against longitudinal movement therein by screw caps or by the sleeves of the tray supports. These rods extend to engage guides W and, in the form shown in Fig. 1, are driven by the shafts T. In either case the conveyer may be provided with any suitable number of intermediate runs, and in the second case, the shafts T may be vertically disposed. Means for charging the oven may comprise an ovening table M which receives the trays B from the conveyer V and a hinged peel P, Fig. 3, which normally assumes the position shown and holds open the oven door C by means of brackets O. When, however, a tray is fed to the peel by rotating the handle shown in Fig. 1, the peel assumes the horizontal position and the door closes until a carrier removes the tray. The carriers are of the form shown in Fig. 8, and as each approaches the peel P it engages a stop t and takes up an inclined position, thereby discharging the baked material into a shoot S and the tray into a space 0, from which it is discharged by the downward movement of a hinged counterweighted member M. After the discharge of the tray, the stop t passes through a recess in the carrier arm, so that the latter resumes its normal position prior to removing a tray from the peel P. The apparatus may be mounted on a motor vehicle, the conveyers then being driven from the engine.
