FIG. 10
A
BEVERAGE CUP STRUCTURE
The present invention relates to a cup and, more particularly, to a beverage cup structure.
A conventional disposable cup is made of plastic or paper material and has an interior provided with a receiving space to receive a beverage so that a user can drink the beverage contained in the receiving space. However, the cup only contains a single beverage so that when the user wishes to taste two different beverages, the user has to buy and carry two cups for receiving two different beverages, thereby causing inconvenience to the user when carrying the two cups, and thereby increasing the space of storage.
In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a beverage cup structure comprising a cup including a substantially inverted
V-shaped partition having two sides bent downward, two cup bottoms horizontally connected with the two sides of the partition respectively, two cup bodies each extending upward from a periphery of each of the two cup bottoms and each connecting and surrounding the partition, two receiving spaces formed in an interior of the cup and each defined by the partition, each of the two cup bottoms and each of the two cup bodies, and a breach formed between the two cup bodies by downward bending of the partition to facilitate stacking of the cup. Each of the two cup bodies has a mouth formed with a cup rim extending outward. The partition has an upper part provided with a top edge located between the mouths of the two cup bodies. The top edge of the partition has a center provided with a protruding strip.
Preferably, the cup rim of each of the two cup bodies has a center provided with an annular protrusion.
Preferably, when a hot press head of a film sealing machine drives a sealing film downward, the hot press head presses the protruding strip, and the protruding strip is fused slightly by heat of the hot press head, so that a height differential formed on a surface of the top edge of the partition during an injection molding process is filled completely by the protruding strip that is fused slightly, and the top edge of the partition is trimmed by hot pressing of the protruding strip, such that the sealing film is combined with the top edge of the partition and the cup rim of each of the two cup bodies tightly and closely to separate the two receiving spaces exactly.
Preferably, the beverage cup structure further comprises a cover mounted on a top of the cup.
Preferably, the cover has a periphery provided with a cover rim. The cover rim of the cover has a two-layer structure and has an inner layer, an outer layer and a clamping space, with the clamping space being arranged between the inner layer and the outer layer. The clamping space of the cover rim has an opening directed downward. The outer layer of the cover rim is provided with a locking projection extending into the clamping space. The cover has an annular recessed portion directly connected with the inner layer of the cover rim. The cover has a center provided with a substantially inverted U-shaped clamping strip connected with the annular recessed portion. The clamping strip of the cover has two sides each provided with an elastic portion that is bent upward and is connected with the annular recessed portion. The cover has two closed top portions, with the clamping strip being arranged between the two top portions. The clamping strip of the cover divides the annular recessed portion, and each of the two top portions of the cover is defined between the clamping strip and the annular recessed portion. The clamping strip of the cover has a center provided with a folding line extending to the cover rim.
According to the primary advantage of the present invention, the two receiving spaces of the cup contain two different beverages, so that the consumer only needs to carry a single cup to have two different beverages, thereby enhancing the variation of the beverage cup structure, and thereby facilitating the consumer selecting the beverages.
According to another advantage of the present invention, the consumer only needs to carry a single cup for drinking two different beverages, without having to take two cups, thereby facilitating the consumer carrying the beverage cup structure, and thereby saving the space of storage.
According to a further advantage of the present invention, when the hot press head presses the protruding strip, the protruding strip is fused slightly by heat of the hot press head, so that the height differential formed on the surface of the top edge of the partition during an injection molding process is filled completely by the protruding strip that is fused slightly, and the top edge of the partition is trimmed by hot pressing of the protruding strip, such that the sealing film is combined with the top edge of the partition and the cup rim of each of the two cup bodies tightly and closely, so as to separate the two receiving spaces exactly.
According to a further advantage of the present invention, the cup is sealed by the sealing film or covered by the cover, thereby enhancing the versatility of the beverage cup structure.
According to a further advantage of the present invention, the clamping space of the cover rim and the clamping strip of the cover are snapped onto the cup rim of each of the two cup bodies and the top edge of the partition of the cup simultaneously, so that the cover is secured on the top of the cup tightly and closely and will not be detached from the cup easily.
Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 10 is a schematic operational view of FIG. 9 in use.
Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1-4, a beverage cup structure in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a cup 10. The cup 10 includes a substantially inverted V-shaped partition 11 having two sides bent downward, two cup bottoms 12 horizontally connected with the two sides of the partition 11 respectively, two cup bodies 13 each extending upward from a periphery of each of the two cup bottoms 12 and each connecting and surrounding the partition 11, two independent receiving spaces 14 formed in an interior of the cup 10 and each defined by the partition
11, each of the two cup bottoms 12 and each of the two cup bodies 13, and a breach 16 formed between the two cup bodies 13 by downward bending of the partition 11 to facilitate stacking of the cup 10. Each of the two cup bodies 13 has a mouth formed with a cup rim 15 extending outward. The partition 11 has an upper part provided with a top edge 111 located between the mouths of the two cup bodies 13. The top edge 111 of the partition 11 has a wide plate shape and has a center provided with a protruding strip 112.
In practice, when a hot press head 31 of a film sealing machine 30 drives a sealing film 20 downward, the hot press head 31 presses the protruding strip 112, and the protruding strip 112 is fused slightly by heat of the hot press head 31, so that a height differential formed on a surface of the top edge 111 of the partition 11 during an injection molding process is filled completely by the protruding strip 112 that is fused slightly, and the top edge
111 of the partition 11 is trimmed by hot pressing of the protruding strip 112, such that the sealing film 20 is combined with the top edge 111 of the partition
11 and the cup rim 15 of each of the two cup bodies 13 tightly and closely to separate the two receiving spaces 14 exactly.
Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6, the cup rim 15 of each of the two cup bodies 13 has a center provided with an annular protrusion 151. In practice, when the hot press head 31 of the film sealing machine 30 drives the sealing film 20 downward, the hot press head 31 presses the annular protrusion 151, and the annular protrusion 151 is fused slightly by heat of the hot press head 31, so that a height differential formed on a surface of the cup rim 15 of each of the two cup bodies 13 during the injection molding process is filled completely by the annular protrusion 151 that is fused slightly, and the cup rim 15 of each of the two cup bodies 13 is trimmed by hot pressing of the protruding strip 112.
When in use, two beverages are received in the two receiving spaces respectively. Then, the sealing film 20 is combined with the top edge 111 of the partition 11 and the cup rim 15 of each of the two cup bodies 13 to cover the two receiving spaces 14. Thus, the consumer only needs to carry a single cup to have two different beverages, thereby enhancing the versatility of the beverage cup structure of the present invention, and thereby facilitating the consumer selecting the beverages.
Referring to FIGS. 7-10, the beverage cup structure in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention further comprises a cover 40 mounted on a top of the cup 10. The cover 40 has a periphery provided with a cover rim 41. The cover rim 41 of the cover 40 has a two-layer structure and has an inner layer 411, an outer layer 412 and a clamping space
413, with the clamping space 413 being arranged between the inner layer 411 and the outer layer 412. The clamping space 413 of the cover rim 41 has an opening directed downward. The outer layer 412 of the cover rim 41 is provided with a locking projection 414 extending into the clamping space 413.
The cover 40 has an annular recessed portion 42 directly connected with the inner layer 411 of the cover rim 41. The cover 40 has a center provided with a substantially inverted U-shaped clamping strip 43 connected with the annular recessed portion 42. The clamping strip 43 of the cover 40 has two sides each provided with an elastic portion 44 that is bent upward and is connected with the annular recessed portion 42. The cover 40 has two closed top portions 45, with the clamping strip 43 being arranged between the two top portions 45.
The clamping strip 43 of the cover 40 divides the annular recessed portion 42, and each of the two top portions 45 of the cover 40 is defined between the clamping strip 43 and the annular recessed portion 42. The clamping strip 43 of the cover 40 has a center provided with a folding line 46 extending to the cover rim 41.
In assembly, when the cover 40 is mounted on the cup 10, the clamping space 413 of the cover rim 41 of the cover 40 is snapped onto the cup rim 15 of each of the two cup bodies 13 of the cup 10, and the clamping strip 43 of the cover 40 is snapped onto the top edge 111 of the partition 11 of the cup
10 as shown in FIG. 9, so that the cover 40 is secured on the top of the cup 10.
In such a manner, the two top portions 45 of the cover 40 cover the two receiving spaces 14 of the cup 10.
When in use, one of the two top portions 45 of the cover 40 is removed from the cup 10 by arrangement of folding line 46 to expose one of the two receiving spaces 14 of the cup 10 as shown in FIG. 10, thereby facilitating the user drinking the beverage contained in one of the two receiving spaces 14.
Accordingly, the two receiving spaces 14 of the cup 10 contain two different beverages, so that the consumer only needs to carry a single cup 10 to have two different beverages, thereby enhancing the variation of the beverage cup structure, and thereby facilitating the consumer selecting the beverages. In addition, the consumer only needs to carry a single cup 10 for drinking two different beverages, without having to take two cups, thereby facilitating the consumer carrying the beverage cup structure, and thereby saving the space of storage. Further, when the hot press head 31 presses the protruding strip 112, the protruding strip 112 is fused slightly by heat of the hot press head 31, so that the height differential formed on the surface of the top edge 111 of the partition 11 during an injection molding process is filled completely by the protruding strip 112 that is fused slightly, and the top edge 111 of the partition is trimmed by hot pressing of the protruding strip 112, such that the sealing film 20 is combined with the top edge 111 of the partition 11 and the cup rim 15 of each of the two cup bodies 13 tightly and closely, so as to separate the two receiving spaces 14 exactly. Further, the cup 10 is sealed by the sealing film 20 or covered by the cover 40, thereby enhancing the versatility of the beverage cup structure. Further, the clamping space 413 of the cover rim 41 and the clamping strip 43 of the cover 40 are snapped onto the cup rim 15 of each of the two cup bodies 13 and the top edge 111 of the partition 11 of the cup 10 simultaneously, so that the cover 40 is secured on the top of the cup 10 tightly and closely and will not be detached from the cup 10 easily.
Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
