Abstract

Connectors combined with electric switches. - A switch, specially adapted for mounting on a terminal post, comprises a nut 11 screwed on to a terminal post 1 and having an extension 8 housing a spring-pressed contact 12, an insulating sleeve 3 connected with the extension 8 by a screw thread, or as shown by a pin 10 and helical slot 9, and a contact 4 mounted in the sleeve 3. Rotation of the sleeve 3 causes the contact 4 to engage the contact 12. The slot 9 is shaped at its ends so as to provide definite 11 on " and " off positions. The contact 4 is formed at its upper end as a terminal to receive the bared end 6 of a flexible conductor. The Provisional Specification also describes a modification in which the screw thread or pin-and-slot connection between the members 3, 8 is dispensed with, the member 3 moving instead in a simple rectilinear manner.
