254,665. Clare, L. D'A. March 19, 1926. Oven shelves are moved outwards by gravity, under control of an exterior operating handle. In the form shown, the shelf or tray T runs on rollers V carried by a frame H pivoted at the front on pins M. To cause outward movement of the shelf, the rear end of the frame is tilted upwards by a lever B pivoted at C, which through a link D and lever E causes rotation of a crank G on which the rear of the frame rests. The movement of the shelf is initiated by the crank G contacting with lugs K attached to it, and is limited by stops P which engage an upper pair of rollers. The back of the frame is prevented from rising too far by hooks 0 engaging the crank G. The apparatus may be modified so that the rear of the frame may be lowered to return the shelf, the operating lever B being provided with a gate to retain it in the desired position. Instead of resting on the crank G, the edges of the shelf may rest on the crank webs, which are formed as scroll cams the form of which controls the ratio of lift to angular displacement.
