Abstract

252,843. Dominy, G. S. April 14, 1925. Pneumatic springs.- A pneumatic device for supporting the bodies of road or rail vehicles or for use generally as a resilient support, comprises an annular pneumatic tube and cover arranged in a horizontal position, the cover 4 being divided vertically into inner and outer portions each having upper and lower beaded edges 4<a>, 4<b> which are similar to those of beaded pneumatic tyres and are fitted in upper and lower metal rims 3, 3a secured to the supported body and supporting member respectively. Security bolts may be provided. The rims may be of the same section and diameter, or the section of one may be smaller than that of the other, their mean diameters being the same. Rims having a removable inner or outer bead may be employed.
