Abstract

252,635. Williams, L. Dec. 17, 1925. Shearing.-Rotary cutters 17, 18 on shafts 13, 14 bevel the edge of a continuously fed plate, and the resulting scrap strip is severed into sections by cutters 33, 34 on shafts 15, 16. The shafts 13, 14, 15, 16 are geared together and to a driving pulley, the shafts 15, 16 being adjusted by screws and wedges. The cutters 34, 33 consist of discs with shaped openings into which are inserted triangular shaped cutters 35, 36. The scrap falls down a shoot 44.
