Abstract

252,343. Kopp, W. May 20, 1925, [Convention date]. Dental instruments. - Rotary instruments such as drills and brushes are secured to their shanks by forming the latter with tapered quadrangular sockets to receive the similarly shaped stems of the instrument proper. In the form shown the shank c is formed with a socket a to receive the stem b of the dental brush d. The tapered shape of the part b gives a fan-like shape to the bristles. Instruments in which the tool proper is held to its shank by a chuck tightened by a threaded sleeve are also referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers also to sockets and stems of other polygonal cross-section. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
