Abstract
540,406. Dental instruments. RANCILLAC, J. M. A. Dec. 13, 1938, No. 32149. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1939. [Class 81 (ii)] An instrument for separating the roots of teeth from the sockets in the maxillary bone comprises a thin blade of ogivial or like curved form provided at the pointed upper end and the adjacent upper parts with cutting edges 12, Fig. 4, the edges 10 of the lower portion of the blade being rounded. The front and rear faces 8, 9, Fig. 8, of the blade are of flattened or slightly convex form, and the cutting edges 12 may be formed by bevelled surfaces such as 13, 14, The cutting end 19, Fig. 17, of the blade may be disposed asymmetric with reference to the longitudinal axis XX. The instruments may be integral with handle portions, the shanks of which are either straight or formed with elbows, or the blades may be mounted on removable handles. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 the blades may be pivotally mounted. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
