Abstract
252,139. Schenck Eisengiesserei und Maschinenfabrik Darmstadt Ges., C., Heymamn, H., and Lehr, E. May 18, 1925, [Convention date]. Machinery, utilizing inertia to obtain movements in.-A weight d, Fig. 1, is slidably mounted in a guide c attached to a jigging conveyer a and is oscillated by the rotation of a weight f around the shaft g. Springs e are placed between the weight d and the ends of the guide. The supports b have no appreciable spring action. In a modification,Fig. 2, the weight d is oscillated by compressed air in a casing h attached to the conveyer. A cylindrical extension k of the weight d takes over a tubular extension i of the casing and a pipe l attached to the weight engages the bore i<1> of the projection. Compressed air enters at m and passes through slots l<1> in the pipe l into the chamber k<1> when the slots coincide with slots i<2> leading to passages i<3> in the projection i and the valve n does not cover the slots e<1>. Exhaust takes place through apertures h<1> and slots k<2> when the latter are uncovered. The valve n which acts as an auxiliary slide valve ecomprises a short pipe which frictionally engages the bore of the pipe l. Stops n', n<2> provided inside the pipe n cooperate with a disc o<1> mountetd on a rod o fixed in the air inlet passage i<1>.
