Abstract

The saucepan comprises three handles (3, see Fig.3/3). It may also have a lower body 5 which is narrower in diameter than the top body 4. The lower part of the saucepan is used to obtain maximum heat from the fuel used. Two of the handles may be 200mm long and the third handle may be a wooden bar supported by two stainless steel rods. The saucepan may be suitable for use on wood burning stoves.

Description

A saucepan
Introduction and background to the invention
The saucepan shown in this application is one to be used with woodburning stoves which could accommadate it, or which could be adapted for its use.
The saucepan is different to others as its function is to be as close to the heat source as possible, and as a result is capable of boiling water and deep frying food in a short time.
The saucepan is to be constructed from the appropriate size stainless steel, I believe it would be around 0.9mm thick or similar, with the base thicker, approx. 3mm.
I do not know the exact thickness as I've yet to speak to manufacturers.
It has a stainless steel lid with a 6mm hole which is a vent for steam The handles provide a lift point without stressing the hands and wrists when pouring.
r.. The lower part of the saucepan is the part where the most heat transfer happens *:* The lower part of the saucepan is an essential part, the handles are also essential to * provide ease and comfort The upper part of the saucepan is also essential as that would house the bu!k of food or water being heated *"* Other saucepans I have seen do not have the same shape as mine and therefore do not function as mine My saucepan is capable of boiling water in a short time where others are not My saucepan can cook rice, pasta, and heat oil for deep frying.
Introduction to the drawings
The description of reference labels shown in the drawings is as follows As shown on drawing 113 1, sausepan lid tOp, made from a hardwood, ash would be used or similar, which is * 35mm in diameter and is 25mm high.
2, lid made from stainless steel.
3, handle also made from hardwood, ash or similar, 25mm in diameter and 150mm long 4, upper body of saucepan.
5, lower body of saucepan.
6, handle secureing rivets with heads of 6mm diameter with length to suit. (finished in a dome headed end, not shown) 7, 4mm stainless steel handle, 200mm in length, from the side of the saucepan.
?.". 8, hardwood handles of ash or similar 125mm long by 15mm thick.
r' 10, screw fixings for handle,5mm in size.
11, vent for steam, 6mm diameter hole, that could be finished with a raised ring.
*:*. As shown in drawing2l3 9, stainless steel rods (with flanged male thread on the inside of the saucepan, not shown) fixing to female thread of stainless steel rods, which at the end furthest from the saucepan have a 5mm threaded hole to take fixing screw.
As shown in drawing 313 1 3,fixing rivets which finish flush with the handle, the rivets are plain topped fixings in the same colour as the metal used to make the handle.
Detailed d'escription of the invention My invention is a saucepan that can be used with the most success on woodburning stoves My saucepan has a lid as shown in drawing 1/3 as number2, it also has 2 handles of 200mm long finished, with wood, of which one is shown in drawingl/3 as number7 and 8, the other 3 handle is a wooden bar supported by 2 stainless steel rods as shown in drawing 3/3 by numbers 9 and 3, the fixing screws are shown by number in drawing 1/3 My saucepan has an upper part, number 4 in drawing 1/3 and a lower part shown in drawingl/3 as number 5.
The diameter of the upper saucepan is 175mm wide and 100mm deep as shown by number 4 in drawingl/3 The diameter of the lower part is 110mm wide and 300mm high as shown by number in drawing 1/3 The material that is to be used to construct the body and lid of the saucepan would be stainless steel approximately 1mm thick, the base of the lower part would be thicker approximately 2mm -3mm. *
* The thickness is approximate as I do not know the exact thickness used in manufactureing.
The 2, 200mm long handles, one of which is shown as number 7 and 8 in drawing 1/3 would be made from stainless steel 4mm thick or there abouts sheathed by a ash "*: wood the wood sues would be 150mm long lSmmthick and 25mm wide The handles may also differ in metal used from the main body of the saucepan, perhaps brass or similar and wood used on handles would be reddish in colour.
Handles would be fixed by boltsin colour dictated by the metal used by the handle, bolts and fixings shown as number 10 in drawing 1/3 and numberl3 in drawing 3/3 Advantages of the invention The benefits of my invention is that people could boil water for cooking or drinking in remote parts of the world with basic fuel sources namely wood.
It is an efficient answer to cooking without gas or electricity on boats or country retreats, or for people who don't want to use modern energy sources.
The saucepan would be lightweight, easy to use, practical cooking utensil.
If no gas is used, it reduces the dangers of storing gas or lust using gas, if no gas is used moisture which is given off when L P G gas is used isn't present in the living or cooking area, L P G gas gives out 1 lb of moisture for every kg burnt, thus making cooking on a woodburner healther for the home. woodbumers give off a dry heat, thus little or no mould in the homa It eliminates the need for electric cooking, thus reduceing manufacturing costs as things are just not needed.
It has a netural carbon footprint on the enviourment due to burning wood for heat/power.
People can cook and heat there homes with the same power, which reduces fuel use * in other aspects. * *
Wood is a readily avaible fuel source in most parts of the world, and it is one that is *:*::* easily renewable.
* Wood is not a fossil fuel. 0 * -* * * * *
Possible modifications and variations The way that this saucepan can be made is that the lower secition as shown in drawing 1/3 as number 5 be made first, then the upper portion shown in drawingl/3 as number 4 Either section can be just pressed out of a stainless steel sheet The upper section would have a hole to accommodate the lower, then the two pieces would be fused together by fusion weld or similar, or if the lower pieS had a top lip which lay over the bottom of the base of the upper part it could be heated and pressed together, I believe the process is called brazed The saucepan would or could come in different sizes such as 175mm as shown also 250mm also it could be made square say 160mm to be more practical using more the one the lower piece would stay the same, although that also cbuld vary.
Since the saucepan is capable of producing steam it may be possible to adapt the rim of the saucepan to accomadate a bell housing type lid where the production of dry steam may be possible, it could push a small set of pistons located on top of the bell housing, thus causing motion, enough perhaps to turn an alternator via a belt, to charge batteries to produce current. This would be a useful attribute in remote areas * or people living without electric, it would also reduce the need for generators and * * fossil fuel. * *. * 4 * 4 4* * * 0 a.
