Description

Seat for a Vehicle, in particular a Passenger Vehicle The invention relates to a seat for a vehicle, in particular a passenger vehicle according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
Such seat for a vehicle, in particular a passenger vehicle can be found in US 1 204 977.
This seat comprises at least two seat elements for supporting an occupant of the seat.
The seat is adjustable between at least one first position an at least one second position.
This means the seat can be moved into the first position and into the second position. In the first position a first one of the seat elements forms a seat part and the second seat element forms a backrest of the seat. This means the occupant can sit on the first seat element and lean against the second seat element in the first position. In the second position the first seat element forms a backrest and the second seat element forms a seat part of the seat. This means the occupant can sit on the second seat element and lean against the first seat element in the second position.
US 7 520 554 B2 shows a vehicle interior including a plurality of seats translatable along a vehicle floor from a fore position to an aft position.
Moreover, US 6715 825 B2 shows a multi-positionable and reversible seat assembly comprising a pair of risers having upper inclined surfaces and a bottom surface. The seat assembly also comprises a seatback coupled to the pair of risers and a seat cushion coupled to the pair of risers, the seat cushion including a seat cushion support frame comprising a pair of seat cushion supports pivotably coupled to the pair of risers, the seat cushion supports having a main plate pivotably secured to the risers and a push plate extending from the main plate.
It is an object of the resent invention to provide a seat of the previously mentioned kind, which can provide a particularly high seating comfort.
This object is solved by a seat having the features of patent claim 1. Advantageous embodiments with expedient and non-trivial developments of the invention are indicated in the other patent claims. In order to provide a seat of the kind indicated in the preamble of patent claim 1, which can provide a particularly high seating comfort, according to the present invention the seat comprises at least one supporting element connected to the first seat element, the first supporting element forming a leg support in the first position and a headrest of the seat in the second position. This means the occupant can rest their legs on the supporting element in the first position. In the second position the occupant can lean their head against the supporting element. This leads to a particularly high seating comfort provided by the seat according to the present invention.
In order to realize a particularly high seating comfort, in a preferred embodiment of the invention the supporting element is pivotably connected to the first seat element, wherein the seat preferably comprises a lever assembly for transforming a movement of the seat elements from one of the positions into the other position into a rotary movement of the supporting element in relation to the first seat element. If the seat elements are moved from one of the positions into the other position a rotary movement of the supporting element in relation to the first seat element is effected by the lever assembly simultaneously. In other words, the supporting element is pivoted simultaneously in relation to the first seat element when the seat elements are moved from one of the positions into the other position. Therefore, it is not necessary to rotate the supporting element in relation to the first seat element after having moved the seat elements from one of the positions to the other position. Thus, the supporting element can be simultaneously rotated into a very comfortable position when the seat elements are moved.
Further advantages, features, and details of the invention derive from the following description of preferred embodiments as well as from the drawings. The features and feature combinations previously mentioned in the description as well as the features and feature combinations mentioned in the following description of the figures and/or shown in the figures alone can be employed not only in the respective indicated combination but also in any other combination or taken alone without leaving the scope of the invention.
The drawings show in: Fig. 1 a schematic side of a first embodiment of a seat for a vehicle, the seat comprising at least two seat elements for supporting an occupant of the seat, the scat being adjustable between at least two positions, wherein the seat further comprises at least one supporting element connected to one of the seat elements, and wherein the seat is moved in one of the positions; Fig. 2 a further schematic side view of the seat being adjusted in the other position; Fig. 3 a schematic side view of a second embodiment of the seat; Figs. 4a-c respective side views of the second embodiment of the seat; Fig. 5 part of a schematic view of the second embodiment of the seat; and Fig. 6 a further schematic side view of the second embodiment of the seat.
In the Figs. the same elements or elements having the same function are designated with the same reference sign.
Figs. 1 and 2 show a first embodiment of a seat 10 for a vehicle, in particular a passenger vehicle. The seat 10 comprises a first seat element 12 and a second seat element 14. As can be seen in Fig. 2, the seat elements 12, 14 serve for supporting an occupant of the seat, the occupant being illustrated by a dummy 16 shown in Fig. 2. The seat 10 is adjustable between at least one first position shown in Fig. 2 and at least one second position shown in Fig. 1. In the first position the first seat element 12 forms a seat part on which the occupant can sit. Moreover, the second seat element 14 forms a backrest in the first position, wherein the occupant can lean against the backrest.
In the second position the first seat element 12 forms a backrest and the second seat element 14 forms a seat part of the seat 10. This means the seat 10 is a reversible seat being mounted on a floor 18 of the vehicle. The seat 10, i.e. the seat elements 12, 14 can be moved from one of the positions into the other position and back while the seat 10 is mounted on the floor 18. Thus, the seat 10 can be adjusted very easily and comfortably in a need-based manner.
As can be seen in Figs. 1 and 2, the seat 10 also comprises a first supporting element 20 connected to the first seat element 12. In the first position shown in Fig. 2 the first supporting element 20 forms a leg support on which the occupant can rest their legs, in particular their lower legs. In the second position the supporting element 20 forms a headrest of the seat 10 so that the occupant can lean their head against the supporting element 20. Thereby, a particularly high seating comfort can be provided by the seat 10.
In order to prevent interferences between the lower legs of the occupant and the supporting element 20 in the first position, the supporting element 20 is pivotably connected to the first seat element 12. As described below, the seat 10 preferably comprises a lever assembly for transforming a movement of the seat elements 12, 14 from one of the position into the other position into a rotary movement of the supporting element 20 in relation to the first seat element 12. This means the lever assembly serves for transferring the movement of the seat elements 12, 14 to the supporting element 20 so that the supporting element 20 is simultaneously rotated in relation to the first seat elements 12, 14 when they are moved from one of the positions into the other position.
For example, if the seat 10 is moved from the second position into the first position the supporting element 20 is rotated downwards in the vertical direction of the vehicle via the lever assembly. Having rotated the supporting element 20 downwards the occupant can rest their lower legs on the supporting element 20 very comfortably.
Figs. 3 to 6 show the seat 10 according to a second embodiment. The seat 10 according to a second embodiment further comprises a second supporting element 22 connected to the second seat element 14. In the first position the second supporting element 22 forms a headrest of the vehicle. In the second position of the seat 10 the second supporting element 22 forms a leg support of the seat 10. This leads to a very high seating comfort provided by the seat 10.
The features and embodiments of the first supporting element 20 described above and below also apply to the second supporting element 22. For example, the second supporting element 22 is pivotably connected to the second seat element 14, wherein, for example, the lever assembly is configured to transform a movement of the seat elements 12, 14 from one of the positions into the other position into a rotary movement of the second supporting element 22 in relation to the second seat element 14 as well. Thus, the second supporting element 22 can also be simultaneously rotated when the seat elements 12, 14 are moved.
Said lever assembly for simultaneously rotating the first supporting element 20 and/or the second supporting element 22 together with the seat elements 12, 14 is shown in Fig. 3 and designated with reference sign 24. The lover assembly 24 comprises levers 26, 28, 32, 34, 36, 38 and 40. The lever 26 is connected to the first supporting element 20.
Moreover, the lever 26 is pivotably connected to the lever 28. The lever 28 is pivotably connected to the lever 26 and the lever 30. The lever 30 is pivotably connected to the lever 28 and the lever 32. The lever 32 is pivotably connected to the lever 30 and the lever 34. The lever 34 is pivotably connected to the lever 32 and the lever 38. The lever 38 is pivotably connected to the lever 34 and the lever 40. The lever 40 is pivotably connected to the lever 38 and the lever 36. And the lever 36 is pivotably connected to the lever 40, the lever 34 and the lever 32. For example, the lever assembly 24 further comprises at least one lever 41 by means of which the second supporting element 22 is pivotably connected to the four-joined system. Thereby, the second supporting element 22 can be simultaneously rotated as well when the seat element 12, 14 are moved.
The levers 28, 30 and 32 are arranged in a back structure of the seat element 14 and used to rotate the first supporting element 20. The lever 34 is used as a connecting link between the back structure and a cushion structure of the seat element 14 having at least one seat cushion. The lever 40 is a fixed link which is, for example, fixed to the floor 18.
As can be seen in Fig. 3, the levers 34, 36, 38 and 40 form a four-joint system for rotating the first supporting element 20 when the seat element 12, 14 are moved. The four-joint system can also be used for rotating the second supporting element 22 when the seat elements 12, 14 are moved. Thus, the supporting elements 20, 22 are simultaneously rotated when the seat elements 12, 14 are moved. The movements of the seat elements 12, 14 and the simultaneous rotations of both the supporting elements 20, 22 are illustrated in Figs. 4a-c, the simultaneous rotations being effected by the lever assembly 24.
Fig. 5 shows the first supporting element 20 partially. As can be seen in Fig. 5, the first supporting element 20 comprises an actuating button 42 which can be pushed as illustrated by a directional arrow 44. By pushing the actuating button 42, the first supporting element 20 is rotated further downwards in relation to the first seat element 12.
Thereby, the first supporting element 20 can be moved into a so called folded position shown in Fig. 6 by a dashed line.
