Abstract

249,537. Poussereau, M. March 17, 1925, [Convention date]. Inking-apparatus. - An inking-pad for a flat stencil duplicating apparatus is supplied with ink from one or more fluid-tight reservoirs arranged at a higher lever than the pad, and vertically slidable floats are disposed within the pad to indicate by their height the quantity of ink in the pad. The pad h consisting of a body of felt, fabric or other absorbent material, covered with a layer of gauze i and two superposed layers of fabric k such as shirting, cretonne, georgette or netting, is mounted on a perforated base-plate g which is supported in a tray e upon a frame f so that a space occurs between the plate g and the bottom of the tray. This space is supplied with ink from one or more containers d by pipes p and communicates with one or more sleeves s containing floats t. These sleeves allow the escape of air when the pad is being charged with ink and the supply of ink is stopped by the floats t engaging inturned shoulders t<1> on the upper ends of the sleeves. The device is mounted in a box or casing a having a shelf b to support the containers d. The rate of flow of ink from the containers d may be controlled by adjusting the screw-caps v of the filling apertures o.
