The invention relates to warrring cabinets and in particular to cabinets for warming cooked food from an outdoor cooking means.
flroundtotEjnvention A known heating means for warming cooked food from an outdoor cooking means, is a domestic gas or electric oven found in a conventional kitchen. Once the food has been cooked, it is then taken from the outdoor cooking means and placed in a conventional gas or electric oven, on a Low heat setting to keep it warm. This has the disadvantage that you can only use the outdoor cooking means in close proximity to the gas or electric oven. The person cooking the food will have to manage both the cooking of the food and heating of the food In two separate locations, which may result in the food being overcooked or burnt Further more the overall costs for cooking the food are increased? as fuel and or energy is being used by two separate appliances.
Another known heating means for warming cooked food from an outdoor cooking means, is a racking means that is integral to the outdoor cooking means, such as barbecue. The racking means allows the cooking and storing of the cooked food directly above the heat source of the cooking means. This has the disadvantage that the temperature s unregulated and excessIve heat may result in the food being overcooked or burnt. The problem may be intensified if the cooking device has a hood, which is brought down over the food during the cooking. This traps the heat within the cooking means and increases the possibility of the food bemg over cooked or burnt.
It k the intention of the claimed invention to alleviate, mitigate or eliminate the above stated disadvantages.
$ufle.Jnventi«=m In broad independent aspect the invention provides a warming cabinet, adapted for use with an outdoor cooking means, comprising a tray and/or baffle plate which is slidably removable from said cabinet; wherein heat from said cooking means is regulated by said baffle plate and warms food disposed on said tray. This configuration provides a means of warming cooked food from the heat provided by an outdoor cooking means, such as barbecue, gas stove or wicked candle or the like. Therefore, when cooking the food, the heat transmitted from the cooking device has a second use of warming the food already cooked. The cabinet provides the means of storing warm food., in outdoor locations where other warming devices and associated power requirements are not available, Furthermore, the cabinet is fuel efficient!, which makes it ccst and environmentally effective.
Preferably, said baffle plate further comprises an elongated aperture. This enables an even transmission of heat across the baffle plate, without being over restrictive and incurring hotspots within the baffle surface.
Preferably, a warming cabinet further comprises a plurality of runner members which facilitate the slidabie attachment of said tray and/ or said baffle plate to said cabinet. This enables the slidably attachment and detachment of the tray(s) and' /or baffle plate to the cabinet Preferably9 a warming cabinet further comprises a bottom aperture, which facilitates the communication of heat from said cooking means into said cabinet This enables the direct transmission of heat from the out door cooking means into the internal cavity of the cabinet, without incurring any tosses or in efficiencies which are caused by heating the case of a cabinet prior to heating the intern at cavity of the cabinet.
Preferably, said tray and/or said baffle further comprises a wall member disposed substantially about the periphery of said tray and/or said baffle. This contains the fat and/or grease whic.h originates from food contained within the cabinet. The fat and/or grease is discharged from the food whilst it is in the process of being warmed.
Preferaby, said cabinet is formed from a plurality of detachable body members, which in use facilitate the dismantling of said enclosure for cleaning. This configuration enables the cabinet to disassembled into constituent components, which can then be easily and thoroughly cleaned by hand or by a machine.
1*5 Preferably, said baffle plate is disposed between said outdoor cooking means and said tray.
This enables the baffle plate to regulate the transmission of heat from the out door cooking means, to the food contained within the cabinet.
Preferabiy a warming cabinet further comprises an outdoor cooking means whereby said baffle plate is disposed between said outdoor cooking means and said tray. This configuration enables an out door cooking means, such as a barbecue, to be supplied with a warming cabinet. The warming cabinet may be either separable or integral to cooking means.
Preferably1 a kit of parts according to any weceding claim further comprising: A plurality of detachable body members, which in use are assembled together to form a warming cabinet; * Atray;and A baffle plate.
This configuration enables the cabinet to be easily packed for storage before shipping to retailer/end user in manner which udlises the minimum storage space and easy delivery and assembly.
