Oil presses. - Oilcontaining material is continuously forced into and caused to travel through the vertical chamber of a double strainer press by feeding- elements arranged substantially outside the press and working only at the actual inlets of the same. Rotating blades or fingers 5 feed the material into the chamber r between strainers 1, 2, through which the liquid escapes, while the solid material is removied from the end by rotating scrapers or knives 6. The position of the parts 5, 6 relatively to the strainer chamber and their rates of rotation are adjustable. Or the strainer chamber may itself rotate and be adjustable relatively to the parts 5, 6. The knives 6 are shown mounted on a disc 7 which can be moved axially by a lever 8. Auxiliary pressing blades may be fixed within the chamber to its inner or outer wall.
