Abstract

248,044. Lunge, E., and Courtaulds, Ltd. Nov. 20, 1924. Filters having sheet filtering-materials.-A filter for viscous liquids comprises two flat plates 23, 24 held together with a filtering medium 33 between them, the inlet and outlet chambers being formed by continuous channels 25, 26 which have their respective supply and delivery ports 28, 29 at opposite ends of their length. The channel 25 may take the form shown in Fig. 5, the channel 26 being complementary thereto. As shown, the apparatus is provided with a central valve which can be turned to connect the inlet conduit 38 with the end 27 of the supply chamber and the end 30 of the outlet chamber with the outlet conduit 39, the direction of flow in the chambers being thus simultaneously reversed.
