Signs.-In electric discharge lamp signs having sign- or picture-forming glass tubes d the electrical parts of the sign, e.g. the electrodes e', transformers, conductors, choke coils, ohmic resistances, or condensers, are located accessibly in a channel c surrounding the sign. A detachable cover n conceals the parts from view. The sign tubes d may he mounted on a plate secured to the channel c, or may have their hidden connect. ing portions embedded in gypsum, cement, asphalt, sealing wax, &c. q filled into the space enclosed by the channel c. The visible parts of the tubes d may be buried in a transparent medium r, such as resin, overlying the opaque material q.
